Everytime I'm in Atlanta, I make sure to eat at here. The scolling view is enjoyable no matter how long your dinner last. The food is always wonderful, with great presentation. The staff has always been over accommidaiting. If you enjoy sophistication and class, this is the place to be.

IF YOU WANT IT ALL, AND YOU HAVE IT ALL, YOU NEED TO DINE HERE. THE WAIT STAFF IS EXCELLENT. (I DON'T CARE HOW GREAT THE FOOD IS, IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE BEST WAITER, IT DOESN'T TASTE AS GOOD!) NOT TO WORRY IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT! I FELL IN LOVE WITH OUR WAITRESS; SHE'S BEEN WORKING HERE FOR 17YRS. SHE WON'T ALLOW A PATRON TO EAT ANYTHING THAT ISN'T A '10'!
THE VIEW WILL STAY WITH YOU LONG AFTER YOU LEAVE.
THE BILL WILL WRINKLE YOUR SMILE, BUT YOU'LL FORGET THAT LONG BEFORE YOU GET TO THE CAR!

I liked the abiance of the restaurant.I visited the restaurant with a group of 40 individuals. Our menu was preselected and they served our food in a timely manner. The presentation of the food was excellent and the waiters were exceptional.

I've never felt moved to write a review for anything before but I can't stand the bad comments about this excellent place.I think most people that are dissatisfied with the Sun Dial are that way because they were poorly informed or not in the mood for this kind of place. Parking is free, you use the hotel garage and get your ticket validated, if you have reservations(which i highly recomend) you ride up the glass elevator for free to the restaurant. The food is exquisite but it is typical of a more expensive restraunt, there are a few fabulous dishes each season not a long list of cheaper more common dinners. Our service was excellent, we were not rushed, when our server came she greeted us by name (from looking at the reservation), made fantastic recommendations. When it came to time for dessert we told her to suprise us and she did a great job. This is the place to go in ATL for a romantic, upscale experience with a fabulous view. Not for casual diners, those concerned about price, or just out for a night on the town with a large group of friends.

Food was more than expected, couldn't even finish plate! It was the most beautiful presentation EVER! Service was absolutely ridiculous! We paid $125 for dinner and were treated like we were in a fast food place. Our server was awful! I didn't even want to give the service one star...but I had to. But...the food and veiw were so spectacular that we will definitley be returning.

I got engaged at the sundial a few years ago so I am a bit biased. The view is breathtaking.I really like the food unlike some of the other reviewers. It is very expensive - but I think you pay for the view as well. It?s well worth it to me.The are always very nice and once when we forgot to make a reservation, they made us one on the spot so we would be seated faster.
We have never had to pay to ride the elevator to eat ? the glass elevator is also part of the fun.I'm not sure why one reviewer had to pay to ride up to eat, if you are just enjoying the view they make you pay.We have also gone for lunch (anniversary), it's a lot cheaper. However, the lights of the city at night are my favorite, so I prefer dinner. We will go back again and again and I highly recommend it to anyone, especially for a romantic evening!

My first experience at the SunDial was during Restaurant Week of 04. I've love the place ever since. I went there on my birthday this year as well and wasn't disappointed. While pricey you get what you pay for, which means no kids running around, and you can expect most patrons to have some decorum. The service from the staff was marvelous both times and my family enjoyed it when i took them on my birthday. I highly recommend the restaurant.

I really can't say enough about this spot.If I could afford to go more frequent I would. But for now, its definately always on for special occassions.A live jazz band performs on Wednesday, couple that with a superb view of the city on a 360 degree constant rotation, and fine dinig and you have a perfect romantic evening.

NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I GO TO THE WESTIN SUNDIAL BAR EACH TIME IS EXCEPTIONAL.I USE TO GO TWICE A MONTH BACK IN THE DAY WITH MY FRIEND AND WE WOULD ALWAYS HAVE DAQUIRIS AND SIT AND WATCH THE VIEW OF ATLANTA.YOU CAN LITERALLY SEE EVERY SUBURB OF ATLANTA FROM THE TOP OF THE RESTAURANT.THE RIDE UP IS EXHILIRATING. IF YOU ARE AFRAID OF HEIGHTS I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND IT THOUGH. AT TIMES THEY HAVE A MUSICIAN OR BAND DEPENDING ON WHEN YOU GO, AND THEY EVEN TAKE MUSICAL REQUESTS.LOL ONE NIGHT THE PIANIST PLAYED BENNIE AND THE JETS FOR ME.IT'S ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO GO THERE.

Going to the Sun Dial is always a wonderful experience for me. Not because of the food, because even though it tastes ok, it is way too expensive. I'm not sure what experiences these other reviewers have had but my waiter was wonderful. He was very cordial, went the extra mile for everyone at my table and went out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful time. Oh, and the view is simply indescribable. You can see all the way to Alabama while facing certain parts of the city. Also, not only are you spinning around slow enough to take in the view but at each section, there is a board with the listings of the cities you are presently viewing. It is a brilliant place to go and have fun.

The prices aren't too reasonable for the food, and considering you have to pay to get in no matter your reasons for being there, the greatest thing about the Sun Dial is the awesome view. From up top you can see all the way to Stone Mountain and you can literally see every bit of Atlanta. On a clear day at sunset, it's breathtaking. If you want to see Atlanta, I totally recommend going to the Sun Dial.

EXCELLENT VIEW. IF IT WASN'T FOR THE VIEW THE PALCE WOULDN'T BE WORTH IT.

I wouldn't go for the food. The service isn't stellar, but why not go to have some drinks and enjoy the view.It is a superb view of Atlanta!

The food was very good and the ambiance was beautiful, but I would go back for the service. The staff are courteous and engaging and possess extensive knowledge of the city/places of interest. Overall a good experience.

The food was expensive but delicious and the view was awesome! My dining experience was greatly hampered by placing six individuals (5 adults, one child) around a table that limited adequate table space for drinks and plates. In fact, I had to turn my plate 90 degrees to fit between the plates around me. I feel they should have placed us at a table where we all had room to comfortably dine.

The only reason I would come back to this restuarant is for the wonderful view of the city. The food was average at best and overpriced. It was not even tasty. Service was average. The view makes up for the food and service.

The view is incredible and our server was great -- those are the good points.

The portions were small but considering everything was overcooked and cold before it reached the table, larger portions would not have been eaten anyway.

Very romantic environment though, we went for our tenth anniversary.I would recommend going for cocktails and ambiance but you might want to hit the McDonald's drive through on your way!!!

The view, even on a stormy night, incredible. The food, decenet. The service, well lets just say it was much better at the Hard Rock Cafe in Atlanta.I ordered two coffee drinks for desert with baileys and amaretto. What we got was two small coffees and two shots each one of baileys and one of amaretto. No big deal, just have it fixed right?Well the waiter said they couldn't fix it because they were not permitted to take something back after it had been brought to the table.Again, I'd recommended the place for the view, which you can do without eating there, but the service is horrible!!!

Atmoshere and view was about all that was good.Dessert was OK.The rest of the food was average at best for such a high price tag.

Price isn't worth the food, if you go have a real meal before you get there
